Cardinals Win First Region Championship In Program History

For the first time in program history, the MAC basebal team has claimed the Region 16 Championship.  After an incredible regular season that saw the Cardinals climb to #14 in the final NJCAA D1 Baseball poll, MAC entered the posteason as the #1 seed.  After advancing past #8 MSU West Plains, the Cardinals opened up the Region 16 Tournament in Joplin, MO against #4 St. Charles.  In the game against St. Charles, MAC came away with a 9-7 win.  The win against St. Charles sent MAC to the winners bracket final against #3 State Fair CC.  The game against State Fair went down to the wire, but MAC was able to earn a walk-off win the bottom of 10th inning, propelling them into the Region 16 Championship against St. Charles.  In game one of the championship, the Cardinals found themselves in a 3-3 tie in the 8th inning but eruped for 5 runs, leading to an 8-3 win and Region 16 Championship.  

The Cardinals will now host Eastern Oklahoma State College in a best-of-three South Central District series with the winner advancing to the NJCAA D1 Juco World Series in Grand Juncion, CO.  The South Central Schedule is below.
