Cardinals Stretch Winning Streak To 13 Games
PARK HILLS, Mo. — The Mineral Area College Cardinals baseball team is playing its best baseball at the right time.
After battling through a challenging stretch in mid-March, the Cardinals have flipped the script in dominant fashion, reeling off 13 consecutive victories to improve to 31-13 overall and 15-9 in conference play.
Conference play has been where the Cardinals have separated themselves. A four-game sweep on the road against Missouri State University–West Plains (12-10, 13-1, 7-0, 9-5) highlighted both their offensive firepower and pitching depth. The Cardinals then returned home and continued their roll with a 7-2 win over Lewis & Clark Community College.
Perhaps the most impressive stretch of the run came against rival Three Rivers College. MAC swept all four matchups, including a dominant 16-1 run-rule victory and a marathon 16-15 win in 16 innings that showcased the team's depth.
The streak reached 13 games with a high-scoring 20-11 road victory over Lincoln Land Community College on April 14.
If the 13-game winning streak is any indication, the Cardinals may be peaking at a great time.
