Men's Soccer Weathers Early Season Challenges, Prepares For Region Play

The Mineral Area College (MAC) men's soccer team has kicked off the 2025 season with an up-and-down start. Through their first six games, the Cardinals have posted a record of 2-1-3, showing they can compete with top programs across the Midwest and South.

Season Recap (So Far)

  • Aug 21 | at Elgin Community College – W, 6-3
    MAC opened the season in style with a dominant offensive display. The Cardinals exploded for six goals in an impressive road win over Elgin CC.
  • Aug 23 | at Triton College – T, 0-0
    A defensive stalemate on the road showed the team's ability to lock down when needed.
  • Aug 27 | vs Southeastern Community College – T, 2-2
    In their home opener, MAC drew with Southeastern in a hard-fought contest.
  • Aug 30 | vs East Mississippi Community College – T, 3-3
    The goals kept coming, but so did the challenges, as MAC earned another draw.
  • Sep 5 | vs Parkland College (Creve Coeur, MO) – L, 4-1
    The team suffered its first defeat of the season in a tough matchup against a skilled Parkland squad.
  • Sep 6 | vs Meridian Community College – W, 3-2
    MAC bounced back with a thrilling win over Meridian, showing resilience and attacking cohesion.

  • Godslove Mensah (SO)
    The heartbeat of MAC's attack, Mensah leads the team with 3 goals and 4 assists. His creativity and vision have made him a constant threat.
  • Zepplin Macdonald (FR)
    The freshman has impressed early, notching 2 goals.
  • Scott Perkins (FR)
    Perkins also has 2 goals to start the season.
  • Josh Hall (SO)
    A steady sophomore presence, Hall has added 2 goals and continues to be a reliable attacker.
  • Thomas Relf (SO)
    Relf has provided consistent midfield support with 2 goals and an assist, helping transition play from defense to attack.
