MINERAL AREA TRACK &FIELD ATHLETES QUALIFIED IN MORE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS; CARDINALS START OUTDOOR SEASON RANKED 1ST AND 2ND IN THE NATION.

The 2022 Mineral Area College Track & Field season continues to produce some outstanding individual and team performances, with the Cardinals competing this past weekend at the Washington University Distance Carnival on Friday April 1st, and the Central Methodist Invitational on April 1st-2nd.  The MAC Track athletes added to their list of NJCAA Division III National Track & Field Championship qualifiers, with 15 individuals either adding more events to what they have already qualified in or hitting a standard for the first time.  Top performances at the Wash U Distance Carnival came from Kyle Vinyard, Devin St. Clair, and Haley Hernandez in the 10,000 meter run, with all three hitting qualification marks as well as running personal bests times, and from Jacob Arnold with a personal best time in the 5,000 meter run also hitting the National mark.  At the 2 day CMU meet, National standards were obtained by:  the men's 4 X 100 relay team of Noah Winch, Mitch Meyer, Grant Shankle, and Cory Stoll; Laine Cottrell and Reilly Baughman in the 100 meter dash; Baughman and Liberty Coleman in the Pole Vault; Stephany Latham in the Long Jump; Laura Maddox in the 1,500 meter run; and in the "workhorse" effort of the weekend, Hunter Cary posted awesome numbers in the 10 event decathlon while also getting National marks in the 100 meter dash, 110 meter hurdles, 400 meter run, and javelin.  The Mineral Area Track teams showings for the season so far have them ranked 1st and 2nd overall in the NJCAA Division III National Track & Field Rankings, with the Men's team in the top spot.  Complete results for the Card Track athletes at Wash U and CMU can be found at:
