Season Preview: Women's Soccer
With a strong mix of returning talent and new recruits the MAC Women's Soccer team enters the 2025 season poised to make noise in Region 16 and beyond. The Cardinals kicked off the campaign with a 1-0 road victory over Elgin Community College on August 21, setting the w tone for a season packed with tough competition and key regional matchups.
August: Road-Heavy and High Stakes
August continues with a tough road stretch, as MAC travels to Triton College on August 23. The Cardinals then return home for their home opener against Southeastern Community College on August 27, followed by a clash with East Mississippi on August 30.
These non-conference games will serve as critical building blocks before the Cardinals dive into their Region 16 schedule in September.
September Tests
September marks the beginning of the conference campaign, and MAC faces a loaded slate. Highlights include:
- Sep 13 vs East Central College – The Region 16 opener at home.
- Sep 17 vs St. Charles Community College
- Sep 20 vs St. Louis Community College
With five home matches in September, the Cardinals will look to capitalize on home-field advantage and build momentum for the postseason.
October Road Tests and Region 16 Push
October begins with a crucial away game at Jefferson College before hitting the road to face Metropolitan Community College and State Fair Community College.
The regular season closes with an October 13 matchup at Missouri Baptist JV before the Region 16 Tournament kicks off on October 26.
Postseason Outlook
The Region 16 Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Championship are scheduled for October 26, October 29, and November 2 respectively with a bid to the district tournament on the line.
