MAC Defeats Jefferson In Five Sets

The MAC volleyball team came away with a big 3-2 win over Jefferson College on Wednesday, October 5.  After a thrilling five set home win over Jeffco on earlier in the season, MAC entered their match at Jeffco with a 1-1 record in Region 16 play.

In Wednesday's match, the Vikings took set one by a score of 22-25, but MAC bounced back to tie the match at two with a 26-24 win in set two.  Jeffco answered, winning set three by a score of 25-20.  The Lady Cardinals again rebounded, winning set four 25-15 and forcing a fifth set.  In the fifth set, MAC secured the match with a 15-13 win.

Leading the way for the Lady Cardinal were Nina Janjic (18 kills), Mariana de Carvalho (17 kills), Alandry Below (49 assists), Summer Meyer (35 digs) and Agatha Emanuelle ( 3 solo blocks).

With the win over Jefferson, MAC improved to 17-6 overall, 2-1 in Region 16 play and 3-1 in MCCAC play.  The Lady Cardinals will return to action on Tuesday, October 11 at home against Lewis and Clark CC at 6:30pm.
