Cardinals Go 4-0 At Chattanooga State Tournament
Match 1 vs Snead State CC @ Chattanooga State CC
MAC swept all three sets against Snead State CC in their season opener.
In the first set, Mineral Area College won by a score of 25-14. The Cardinals had a strong attack, with 7 kills and only 2 errors out of 29 attempts.
In the second set, MAC continued their dominance, winning with a score of 25-13. The Cardinals recorded 7 kills and 2 errors out of 26 attempts.
In the final set, MAC sealed their win with a score of 25-22. They had a balanced attack, with 8 kills and 2 errors out of 26 attempts, resulting in a .210 hitting percentage.

MAC improved to 2-0 with another strong performance, this time against Bevill State CC. The Cardinals won by a score of 3-0. (25-10, 25-10, 25-11)
Mineral Area College had a strong performance in all three sets. In the first set, they had 9 kills, 2 errors, and a hitting percentage of .350. In the match between MAC and Calhoun CC, MAC won with a score of 3-0. The Cardinals won the first set with a score of 25-18, the second set with a score of 25-15, and the third set with a score of 25-17.
Individual players from MAC also had notable performances. Mariana de Carvalho had the highest number of kills with 9, followed by Vitoria Campos Mello with 8. Match 4 vs Wallace State CC @ Chattanooga State CC
The Cardinals dominated Wallace State in their final match of the weekend with another clean sweep. (25-15, 25-14, 25-15).
Mariana de Carvalho led the Cardinals offensively with 11 kills. Defensive leaders for MAC included Giovanna Mye Onitsuka Ishii (12 digs) and Payton Roberts (3 blocks). Alandry Below recorded 22 assists.
With the clean sweep in Chattanooga, the Cardinals begin the season 4-0. They will return to action on Wednesday, August 30 at home against St. Louis CC.
