MAC Wins Lyon College Invitational, Jailey Pigg Named NJCAA Runner of the Week
On September 6, 2024, the Mineral Area College women's cross country team delivered a field leading performance at the Lyon College Meet.
Jailey Pigg Leads the Charge
Freshman Jailey Pigg led the way for Mineral Area College, finishing in first place with an impressive time of 20:25.0, averaging 6:34.3 per mile. Pigg's performance not only earned her the top spot in the invidational but also earned her NJCAA D3 Cross Country Runner of the Week honors.
Alyson Skiles and Presley Ridings Follow Strongly
Another standout for MAC was Alyson Skiles, also a freshman, who secured second place with a time of 20:37.0 (6:38.1 per mile). Skiles' performance was a critical factor in the team's success, demonstrating her ability to contribute significantly to the team's overall standings.
Freshman Presley Ridings completed the top three for MAC, finishing fifth with a time of 22:38.0 (7:17.1 per mile).
Adria Marvin and Kaydence Stause Make an Impact
Adria Marvin, another freshman, finished in sixth place with a time of 22:57.0 (7:23.2 per mile). Her performance was pivotal in solidifying MAC's strong showing. Following her was Kaydence Stause, who finished seventh with a time of 24:22.0 (7:50.5 per mile). Both Marvin and Stause showcased their potential and contributed significantly to the team's overall success.
Grace Bone Rounds Out the Top Performers
Rounding out the top finishers for MAC was Grace Bone, who finished eighth with a time of 24:50.0 (7:59.5 per mile).
The MAC women's cross country team returns to action on Friday, September 13 when they travel to Searcy, AR to particpate in the Harding University Invitational.
