Women's Cross Country Claims Regional Championship, Prepares for National Meet

The Mineral Area College Cardinals Women's Cross Country team traveled to Neosho, MO for the Region 16 Tournament on Friday, November 25 and came left as Region 16 Champions.  

Team Performance

The Cardinals showcased an impressive performance, with five runners finishing in the top ten.  The scoring order for the Cardinals was as follows:

  1. Alyson Skiles (FR) - 20:24.6
  2. Jailey Pigg (FR) - 20:32.2
  3. Dakotah Medows (SO) - 21:24.2
  4. Presley Ridings (FR) - 21:26.5
  5. Adria Marvin (FR) - 22:17.2

Their total time of 1:46:05 reflects a combination of speed and endurance, earning them a decisive win over rival Jefferson College.

Individual Highlights

Alyson Skiles led the pack, finishing first overall with a time of 20:24.6.  Teammate Jailey Pigg followed closely behind, claiming second place with a time of 20:32.2. The Cardinals' depth was evident, as Dakotah Medows and Presley Ridings finished fifth and sixth, respectively.

Looking Ahead

The Cardinals will now turn their attention to the NJCAA D3 Women's Cross Country Championships on November 9 in Richmond, VA.
