Cardinals Knock Off #4 John A Logan And Dallas - North Lake To Start Season

First year Head Coach Greg Heiar and the Cardinals started the 2023-24 season with a bang by defeating #4 John A Logan and Dallas College - North Lake in the Three Rivers Classic on Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4.

In the season opener against John A Logan, MAC took a 44-36 lead into the half before upsetting the Volunteers by a final score of 89-60.  The Cardinals were led in scoring by Doreante Tucker (16 points).  Also recording double-digit games offensively were Savon Sutton (14 points), Marcus Watson Jr. (12 points), Amarion Dickerson (12 points), and Josh Meo (11 points).  Charles Outlaw pulled down 12 rebounds in the win.

On Saturday, November 4 MAC took down Dallas College - North Lake by a final score of 99-75.  In Saturday's win, Doreante Tucker again led MAC with 19 points.  Other double figure scorers included Marcus Watson Jr. (17 points), Josh Meo (17 points), Preston Turner (15 points), and Amarion Dickerson (13 points).  

The Cardinals start the season 2-0 following the Three Rivers Classic.  MAC will return to action on Wedensday, November 8 at Southwestern Illinois College.
